With everything that has happened since Chris death.. Its been very hard to spend any time with Samarah, let alone quality time. I picked up a part time job in addition to my full time, as well as handling all the paperwork and the weeks of phone calls, I should say months, because I just found out two more places I have to mail death certificates to... So I'm trying to find a few special things to do with just her and I. While at work one day, I decided after work I was going to take Samarah to get a pedicure. I am not a spur of the moment type of a person, and I usually think so much about the money that I talk myself out of doing things. But I decided I was going to take her and that was that. So I picked her up from the baby sitter and told her that I was taking her to a surprise.. She was so excited and kept asking what it was. I drove to the mall and went into the nail place. She immediately noticed the bear chair.. and was even more excited when I told her that is where she would be sitting.
I had her pick out some nail polish, she picked out glittery purple, then she sat in the chair and was so excited. She thought the blue water on her feet was so cool :)
I love her huge cheeser in this, love her dimple!
Samarah still continues to astound and impress me. I love watching her interact with other people. She loves asking everyone their name and asking questions about them. She is only 3, so smart and speaks so well!
So anyway while sitting there, she asked this lady her name. Then as she was working on her feet, Samarah was so curious about what each thing was, and what she was doing with it.
The lady would get a new tool, and Samarah would ask what it was, and what she was going to do with it. Sometimes when kids ask a million questions it gets super annoying.. but I was fascinated watching and listening to her, because she was so intent and focused, and I could see the learning and the application as she told her. It was actually really neat.
Samarah kept messing up her toenail polish and the lady was getting mad! She had to re do it like 3 different times. Then she made her sit in a chair and spread her toes apart and didn't let her move for awhile :)
I can see the importance of this though, because she will tell people, my mom took me to get a pedicure! and show them her toes, or my mom took me for a surprise! And although its money that should be spent elsewhere, like my mounting bills.. This was important and I am so glad I took her.
Plus I got some awesome gel toes out of it which will be nice since my toenails were the last thing on my mind and in desperate need of some love. :)
