VEGAS! Academy of Country Music Awards

This will be two posts, this post will be pictures in the places we stayed.

Ok. So. I listen to country music.. and they were giving away tickets to Country Explosion thats going to be out in Tooele in July. So I would call in when they told you too and I won a pair of tickets! Sweet! So everyone that wins tickets, their name got put into a drawing for this BIG trip to vegas. And there was a lot of winners. They probably gave away 10 pairs of tickets a day for like 2 weeks. Anyway, as  you can guess, my name got drawn out!!!!!

They called me on a Monday morning and had me live on the air and told me about it and I just about crapped my pants. Me? No way. Even when they said my name was going in the drawing I didn't think twice about it because what are the chances right?
The trip included this: airfare to Vegas there and back, 3 nights at the MGM GRAND HOTEL! tickets to the actual academy of country music awards that was aired on tv! tickets to an exclusive luke bryan concert, tickets to an after party, tickets to another concert.. Oh. my. gosh.

Well I had to have a name of who I was taking like asap. And I'm like woah hello i'm still trying to process this and I have to decide who i'm taking in the next 10 minutes? Well of course i think husband first, but he doesn't like country.. but its vegas.. but its all these country things.. So I run home and ask him, he said he doesn't want to go, he will be miserable with all things country. So I call my sister

It would mean taking time off work which she doesn't get paid for but this is a once in a lifetime thing.. she says HELL YES!!

(view from our window at night, amazing right?)

So I give the radio station mine and her information.. the trip is actually sponosere through a company called JD HAAS entertainment.. they met us at the airport, had signs, they were a go-to 24-7 we didnt' have to worry about anything

You walk into the MGM as a place of interest, I never thought i'd ever STAY there. I get those cheap rooms off the strip. It was amazing. I have never slept on a bed so comfortable in my life. I like mountain/nature view, I never thought i'd like a city view. but the view from our room on the 21st floor, was seriously amazing. Both day and night. My sister Dejah and I spent most of the time sitting in the window when we were in our room..

My sister being a nerd. We got pictures of the carpet for my mother to see since she loves flowers..

This was as you got off the elevator.. There were hallways stretching in every direction! this place is huge! We didn't take pictures of the outside of the building or the lobby since we already knew what that looked like

Fountain out of the lobby elevators

We were so lucky

In the next post i'll explain more about what we did, the concerts/people we saw..

The trip was called The Dream Trip of a Lifetime..  It truly was. I am so glad that I was able to take my sister, a single mom with SO much stress and anxiety in her life, on this trip. Normally a trip is stressful trying to plan the trip, worrying about directions, cars, where to go what to see. This was like all planned out for us, and the trip staff would answer whatever question even where to eat at 2am if we wanted.

All we had to do was show up. They paid for everything except food and souveneirs if you wanted them.

It does not look like it but our bathroom was way big!

It was a freaking blast, will follow up soon!

Now I get it....

Ok so like awhile ago I did a post on how you decide when to have baby #2.. and I was all stressed out and upset and emotional about it.

I looked at people that had kids a year apart or 18 months apart and i'm like wtf they are CRAZY! but now I get it!!! Before I had an 18 month old, 18 months seemed so little still!! But at 18 months they are SO SMART!!  I can't believe how smart Samarah is and how much she learns every day. She already seems like a little adult and not like a person.

She does things that I like at her and am like, how the heck did you figure that out? Its amazing how much kids watch and seriously soak up.

18 months is still little, but in terms of having another one, i get it. Because they will only continue to learn more and more and become more independent and before you know it she's all grown up.

SO. If things were more stable in my home life, i would be trying for another one right now.. Samarah is almost 21 months.

I see small siblings, and its so awesome to see how much the older protects the younger even at such a young age, to see them interact. I want to give Samarah that. It might not be where they will be close in age because of circumstances at home. But I want her to have siblings. I can't wait to have another one, when the time is right :)

FEET!

Samarah is so funny! When she was little we would smell her feet and saw 'eewwww'  and she'd smile at us.. And we were joking with her and said smell your feet.. and she really did it!! haha. so cute.

I tried to put a video up i hope you can watch it!!

Easter!

OKAY!! Back to blogging. I promise I think about it often I just never get around to doing it.

So we thought she might be old enough to take out and do an Easter Egg hunt. Provo city has a big one so we took her over, it said 10am SHARP. So walked onto the field like RIGHT as they started. So we were on the far edge of the crowd. By the time we got to the middle...

All the eggs were gone. I don't think Samarah knew what was happening there were SO many people and it was like the 0-3 years so moms and dads were mostly carrying the kids. I was kind of bummed there were no eggs, but this mom saw me looking around and asked me if she got any eggs and I said no..

She said, I think my kids picked up a few extra. And she asked her son to give Samarah an egg. He said she can have more and gave her like 5 of his eggs. (and he was a little boy!) I am such a BOOB! I totally like started crying (not to her, when she walked away) (i'm tearing up now typing about it, STOP!) its that part inside of me that swells when I see people doing things for other people, going out of their way to be nice even though they dont' have to. It gets me all the time.

Samarah was so excited. She carried her little bucket around and loved shaking the eggs and opening and closing them. I'm so thankful for this mom who allowed us to enjoy the eggs!

Samarah loves being around kids, she is such a good baby and loves everyone. She played around on this bouncy thing for awhile.

She is staring to hold my hand to walk places and it is just about the most amazing thing ever

We didn't do much else than that.. Turned out to be a not very good weekend after the egg hunt.. Emotions were not the greatest at the house so we went to the dunes then turned around and came back so didn't do that and didn't do anything sunday with the family either but taking Samarah was definitely the highlight. I FOR SURE can't wait until next year!! Samrah is the most amazing thing ever
