She would only eat the BIG burrito

Haha so we made dinner one night we had like fajita stuff and she usually likes most anything in a tortilla shell. I made her her own little tortilla and cut up the meat and she would not eat it. But she wanted mine. So I tried to give her a bite and she was asking for the whole thing... and these are the burrito size tortillas and mine was stuffed full. But I handed it to her.. and she ate it! but she looked so funny with this huge burrito in her hand

 

 

 

I just let her have mine that way she ate because for whatever reason she wouldn't eat her own. Lol

My mother in law got Samarah a super cute onsie that said birthday girl on it.. so since the day of her party wasn't really her birthday.. I put it on her the next day on her actual birthday..

Okay so.. like I was really stressed about  this whole thing but it was a beautiful night.. and everything turned out so good and was so fun. I think these are just as much for the adults as they are for the kids. getting together to celebrate my child but also strenghtning friendships in the process..

Thoughtful 15 year old

 So I have a nephew named Chandon. He is seriously the most thoughtful, considerate teenager (I don't know if i'd go so far as to say I've ever met' but for sure one of the most that I know.

He is genuine, wants to help his mom all the time, would rather play games and go hiking with her than spend time with friends because he knows it means a lot to his mom.

I don't see or talk to him much.. so this surprised the crap out of me.

So I went to a family dinner, the ones that we have once a month. It was at my parents, and I was getting ready to leave and I open the back of my van.. and there is THIS sitting in the back with a note that says to: char

and i'm like where did this come from?

chandon was standing right next to me.. my dad makes stuff for me a lot but its usually something I've asked him for and I haven't asked for a bookshelf.. and I didn't recognize the handwriting.. but it was time to go and I was trying to get the baby loaded and then i'm like chandon is this from you?? and he got all embarrassed.. 

well later my family filled me in.. he has been working on it for months in his wood class at school!! and its a NICE shelf! 

 

My house is pretty nice for being older.. and well proportioned in every room except the KITCHEN which is the room I wish was the best proportioned lol. The kitchen is built horrible. There is NO counter space. and it didn't help that I had to have the microwave on the counter because I had no alternative. or could not think of one anyway.

When its the family dinner it sucks when its time to serve the food because like if there is more than 2 people in the kitchen you can't move around, and when you have several different foods to put on your plate there is no room to set your plate down to get the other stuff.

Anyway, so at that family dinner he decided he wanted to make a shelf to put my microwave on to give me more counter space. what kid thinks of that? that's freaking rad!

So I got it all set up and it makes a WORLD of difference!! I feel like I have so much counter space now its so great. he is so sweet I can't believe he thought about me like that!

One of Chris' other daughters.. spent the night for the first time

 

How do I load this into a nutshell for those who don't know about this part of life.... Yikes.

 

okay so Chris has two other daughters, both with different mom's. the relationship with both mothers is...gosh how do I pick a word... a rollercoaster.

 

We haven't had much to do with either of them, for several reasons but one of them being that they both live in different states than where we live, the moms don't answer the phone,  they weren't married so there is no decree or anything about visitation. and if we have any rights we don't know about that. We faithfully pay child support for both each month even though we never get to see them.

 

We have only seen Keersten 3 times since we have been married and she is 7. Not for lack of trying though that's for sure..

 

The last 6  months the mom has been better and now that  Keersten is older she can talk on the phone and have her own thoughts and opinions about things

 

 

 

 

They came down to Roy, Utah which is like 1.5 hours from where we live, and called and said we could have her overnight. um.. WHAT??????  we though for sure the mom was sick. Well of course we said yes. we hadn't seen in her 2 years, I was like 2 weeks away from my due date last time we went and saw her..

 

It was super nerve racking but it was just one night and it turned out good. I had already made other plans to go listen to a concert with my friend but it gave them good bonding time they went to trafalga. samarah loved having her around

Not going to lie it was kind of weird, I have always known about Keersten but where she hasn't really been a part of our life it as kind of a shock but she is a good kid and chris was so so so happy so i'm glad things are going better.

 

He took her back to Roy the next day and that was that. for now

Tile update

My bathroom is damn near finished I just haven't taken pictures yet.. These were RIGHT after we grouted

 

 

Chris replaced a few drywall pieces because I was scared about the mold so we cut out a bunch just to be safe

 

 

Just wait until you see the finished product :)

Ok so we got a papa murphy's pizza and you know the trays they leave it on, well it was on the floor because it needed to be taken out to the garbage..

 

And I forget how many things I need to put away. So there were a few things that Samarah could reach.. one of them being a bag of chips, the other being a bag of cereal... I looked over and she had dumped the chips out, then the cereal, and I turned around as she was trying to dump crackers on top of it. I laughed but it looked to me like she was trying to make nachos :)
